Pragovka Gallery vás zve na výstavu Ľubicy Mildeové a Michala Goláka POSSESSIVE EXCESSIVE 20. 9. – 15. 12. 2024). Zahájení proběhne ve čtvrtek 19. září od 18 hodin.

Výstava Possessive Excessive odkazuje svým názvem nejen na přebytek zdánlivě laciných věcí nebo zážitků, po kterých prahneme a jsou určeny na okamžitou spotřebu. Possessive Excessive je především hravou reakcí na těžko odbouratelné materiály a neurotické pocity, na které jsme si už každý svým způsobem zvykli.

Mildeová vytváří na míru prostoru v Pragovce designerské simulakrum obchodu s oblečením. Její instalace je mentálním odrazem neodbytné potřeby neustálého přísunu dopaminu skrz různé kanály. Umělkyně si pohrává s kovovýma trubkama prefabrikovaných a zároveň custom-made věšáků, aranžuje fast fashion kousky pro cheap královny a krále v bizarně high end artovém stylu. V centru jejího zájmu nejsou konkrétní módní kousky, ale systém a design, který formuje naše touhy. 

Golák pracuje s tvary a formani v jejich rudimentárnosti, bez cinkrlátek. Špinavý minimalismus forem jeho sochařských instalací je oživen obdobnou fascinací materiálem s odlišným citem pro estetiku nadbytku než jaký má Mildeová, třpytivá princezna. Drť z plastových zbytků z továren je v tomhle případě jednak smutnými konfetami ropného průmyslu, ale i základní stavební jednotkou jeho verze postindustriální krajiny. Pohyblivé části Golákovy instalace jsou poměrně nehlučným, ale vytrvalým noisovým soundtrackem, který spojuje obě instalace v nevyčerpatelnou symfonii nadprodukce a bezbřehé spotřeby.

Possessive Excessive staví na vetchých nožkách kapitalismu s tvářemi manekýna na hoře těžce recyklovatelných plastů a nákupního dopaminu a na postkomunistické budovatelské vášni ohledně všeho, co nám nechybí v centru ani na periferii.

Pragovka Gallery invites you to the exhibition of Ľubica Mildeová and Michal Golák POSSESSIVE EXCESSIVE 20 September – 15 December 2024). The opening will take place on Thursday 19 September at 6 pm.

The exhibition Possessive Excessive refers not only to the excess of seemingly cheap things or experiences that we crave and are intended for immediate consumption. Possessive Excessive is first and foremost a playful response to the hard-to-degrade materials and neurotic feelings that we have all become accustomed to in our own way.

Mildeová creates a designer simulacrum of a clothing store, tailored to the space in Pragovka. Her installation is a mental reflection of the insistent need for a constant supply of dopamine through various channels. The artist plays with the metal tubes of prefabricated yet custom-made hangers, arranging fast fashion pieces for cheap queens and kings in a bizarrely high end art style. Her focus is not on specific fashion pieces, but on the system and design that shapes our desires. 

Golák works with shapes and forms in their rudimentary, no-frills way. The dirty minimalism of the forms of his sculptural installations is enlivened by a similar fascination with material with a different sense of aesthetics of excess than that of Milde, the glittering princess. In this case, the rubble of plastic leftover from factories is both the sad confetti of the oil industry and the basic building unit of his version of the post-industrial landscape. The moving parts of Golák’s installation are a relatively noiseless but insistent noise soundtrack that unites the two installations in an inexhaustible symphony of overproduction and boundless consumption.

Possessive Excessive builds on the spindly legs of mannequin-faced capitalism on a mountain of heavily recyclable plastics and shopping dopamine, and on a post-communist building passion for all that we lack neither in the centre nor in the periphery.
